Solon Beef Days Committee is proud to announce this year’s recipients of their annual donations which are earmarked each year in March to be given back to the community and surrounding area. The following organizations and activities were chosen on the merit of their projects as this year’s recipients.

Solon Boy Scout Troop 120 $2,500 Tents/supplies for the Troop
City of Solon Street Banners $2,500 Custom banners and brackets for street poles
Solon HS Scholarships $2,000 4, $500 scholarships to HS graduates
Bandstand Backdrop $2,000 Backdrop to dress up performances on stage
Solon Spotlight $2,000 Pledge to purchase items needed for the arts
Solon Xmas Decorations $1,500 Replace/Repair Main St. Decorations
Solon student activities $1,500 State, National activities by all students.
"Win with Reading" Program $1,238 Sponsorship for an author
Lake MacBride State Park $1,000 Trail and Retaining Wall repair
Solon Economic Dev. Group $1,000 Downtown development
Solon Living Roadways $1,000 Foundations for Solon Road Signs
City of Solon Main Street $500 Electrical upgrades on Band Stand
Solon Science Fair $500 Support Science Fair
Solon Garden Club $500 Planters and Flowers along Main Street
Project Prom $300 Defer cost of Post Prom party
Solon Senior Advocates $300 Van drivers and maintenance
Solon Booster Club $200 Sponsor throwing balls out at games

The Solon Beef Days Committee has donated approximately $275,000 over the past 35 years to local organizations, activities and projects. "Our charter is to touch as many worthy projects and activities within the community and surrounding area," said Gary Bentrim, President of Solon Beef Days Committee. "We look at the number of people we are going to impact along with the betterment of the community". "We view our committee as the organizer and catalyst to put on this annual celebration where most of the non-profit organizations within the community that take part in Beef Days have their largest fund raiser." "Many, without Beef Days would not have the funding to do all of the great things they are doing." "It’s one of the events each year that the whole community can be proud of. These funds along with many other Non Profit groups are the foundation to support many of the community activities that go on throughout the year."
